EDC, so why not ArcLite?

I will admit that the non-talonite Talon looks nice, but I prefer a thinner profile for a neck knife. Then after ordering my 154CM EDC it hit me: Why not do the same trick with the ArcLite?

Would anyone else be interested in a production version of the ArcLite in 154CM? It seems like a great compromise of price and performance.

I already asked this question on 2-6-2001. Darrel thought it was a good idea, Spark said wait until they get caught up with the EDC's and Talons.

I must have started reading this part of the forums just after that.

I guess that great minds think alike. Or is that, great minds run in small circles?

So, how can we get someone to produce these things?

Actually, I'd be willing to wait for the 154CM ArcLite if you'd work on getting us a production version of the Mad Max first. Pleeeeeeease...

I hate to be the one to pop the balloons here but if Camillus did make a run of ArcLites in 154CM, the cost would be higher than the 420HC version that's out now. Reason is that the only way to profile this steel is by laser cutting only, it does not blank well at all. Not to mention the fact that 154CM is more expensive steel than 420HC to start with. Well, with that being said, even I'd probably go for a 154CM ArcLite if they ever did a run of them

Certainly. But I suspect that you and I are not the only ones who would be happy to pay the cost for better steel. A compromise somewhere between the $20 420HC version and the $200? custom version would sure be nice.

What kind of price difference would there be, though, between the 420 HC ArcLite and one made in 154CM? Even if prices were 2x the normal ($40), I dont think that many people would find that unreasonable...

Okay, it appears that the Talon's are shipping and the EDC's will be within the next few days. It is time to start pushing for a 154CM ArcLite!
