EDC / survival basic set

Thanks for the nice comments one the knife.
I designed it on paper first and then went to a knife forging course where I made the knife. So I had some instructions how to proceed.
I really liked the work, and actually I´m thinking about the next one.

Are you planning on using the original neck sheath or making one? I've been wanting a leather belt sheath for mine, but (beyond the pointless expenditure) I worry about how secure it'll be with such a thin knife.

I still have the origional sheath. A leather one is on my list of things to do, Ill let you know.

Right now its the origional sheath, with a chord wrap criss crossed through the holes, this allows for belt carry and gives me attachment points for small items.

Right now its a bunch of stuff that I keep trying together in differnt ways trying to get a good Fit.

I like the "package" in the original post. Easy to carry and provides a primary tool and fire. Along the same lines, I recently received a Rik Palm GT and Rik added a pocket on the back of the sheath for a 2"x1/8" ferro rod. Same idea, even lighter in weight and the rod isn't hanging out where it can snag.

I like the concept of having a small kit attached to your sheath. My LM Wave sheath has a small sewing kit and a firesteel in the side pockets, and 5 tinder-quick tabs in the back pocket.

Hmm, never thought about crisscross wrapping. I might have to give that a try, see how it works.
