Hey, I'm looking for a new EDC folder, 3 inch + blade, preferably part serrated and made in USA. Suggestions?

Spyderco Salt C88SBK, but it's made in Japan. About 60 bucks.
Spyderco Tenacious C122GS, but it's made in Taiwan. About 30 bucks.
Kershaw Blur serrated, USA made, about 60 bucks.

The salts an uglyy knife LOL. I'm likin' the the tenacaious, and I been thinkin' about a Blur. I also been lookin' at the Spyderco Manix 2. Anyone have anything to say about the Manix 2?

The manix 2 is also a very good one, but the problem will be that you might want to get several other variations of it. Some of them are upwards of a hundred bucks. Don't say I didn't warn ya, :)

Cold Steel American Lawman. It's my current EDC and the quality is actually quite good. I paid $55. Made in Taiwan.

If you increase your budget to ~$100 you will find much more American-made knives available.

God, why does there have to be so many different knives? Right now the Manix, Presidio and Grip are lookin' like the most likely

$75 EDC?
Manix 2 Lightweight: Big blade, only 3 0z., Golden CO USA Earth
BM Grip: Awesome, Shop around and find it for around $75
Kershaw Blur: It's got everything going for it
Spyderco Stretch VG10: My personal fave at this pricepoint, not made in US though
Buck Vantage Pro/Avid: Non serrated but you'll love it

USA made $75 and under?
Okay that's pretty easy actually.
Get a Spyderco.
Or a Kershaw.
My suggestions of what I've owned and loved:
*Spyderco Manix 2 - Beautiful solid heavy duty knife, I've owned several, I miss mine.
*Spyderco Native - Best bang for your buck knife in my opinion - Made in USA, s30v, nice FRN, good clip, feels good in hand. Around $50 - $60.
*Spyderco UKPK - Doesn't lock but you can get it under $40, made in the USA, and just a good knife.
*Kershaw JYD II - This is a bigger heavy duty knife but you can get it under $60 and it's made in the USA, you can also get the composite blade version which has a nice D2 cutting edge.
*Kershaw Rake - You can find this right around your price, sometimes a little over, sometimes a little under. This was my EDC for a long time, and for good reason. Has a great composite blade, nice G-10 handles, nice solid lock, wonderful blade shape, and a good pocket clip.

Those would be my recommendations for made in the USA around $75. Only thing about the Rake is you can't get it with serrations. You also can't get the JYD II Composite with a Combo edge.

You could always look at the classic Kershaw Leek. You can sometimes find a ZT 0350 for around your price range, you just gotta shop around a bit.

Or there is always the Benchmade Griptilian which is a great knife and can be had right at your price range.
I would personally prefer the Benchmade Griptilian 550 with Thumb Hole and sheepsfoot blade.

Might I ask why partially serrated? A sharp plain edge knife can do all the things a serrated knife can, the upside being you can actually sharpen a plain edge knife with most systems, unlike a serrated knife. If you are cutting something soft that can conform to the shape of your blade (such as rope, or bread, or meat) then a serrated knife will give you more surface area for cutting. Partially serrated blades, in my opinions don't offer any kind of advantage over a plain edge blade.

Second vote for the kershaw blur if you like assisted and
although smaller, spyderco native if you don't.
