EDC/Utility knife choices

Thanks everyone. I believe I will get a Calypso and a sharpener for now. I may have to pick up the others eventually as well... :)

I don't like carrying a box cutter in my pocket, so I don't use one real often. I was going to buy one of the Superknife type products, but after looking at them I decided not to--I think they are a great idea, but I'd rather use my EDC knife.

I think the Calypso will work great, and after I get it, I'll send the Delica back to get sharpened. After having used it for 11 years I am certainly not going to get rid of it--the blade's a little loose, but after all its use, I have no complaints.

When I shapren the Calypso, is the 30 degree angle the correct one to use?

Thanks again for all the responses,
BruceWayne

On the sharpening angle you will get all kinds of responses. I just follow the instructions of the sharpmaker (which by the way are outstanding): 40 deg for touch-ups and ever so often thinning the bevel at 30 deg. Cliff Stamp has stated multiple times, that in his experience the angle at the very edge makes very little difference in cutting ability as long as the back bevel is thin and the bulk of the blade has to displace only small amounts of material.
