How you liking it so far?
Man I'm sorry to hear that. My mom had a bit of a scare, but thankfully it was benign(?). I was young, and my folks never really talked about it.Thanks brother - That's exactly why I went with the pink. It looks good, truly says "I just don't give a f*ck", and it's a small way to show I'm thinking about a dear friend who passed very recently from breast cancer. (She was my son's best friend's mother, and literally lived two houses down from me and my family)
You really should find "Damaged" and give it a spin! Such great tunes. RISE ABOVE!
It's really growing on me. I'm liking the aesthetics more and more, and with the thinner edge I put on it last night, I find the blade actually isn't too thick to cut efficiently afterall. Not as heavy as you would imagine either.
But it's a tank, that's for sure. It screams "beat the crap outta me! I can take it!"
Yeah it's definitely a better cutter than my XM-18. I was surprised by it's performance in that regard. Personally, I love the aesthetics. The ergos, for me, are better than any other knife I've ever held. It's just about perfect, but needs a carbidized lock tip or a steel lockbar insert to become my #1 EDC. That's my only issue with Strider. I love the knife so much that I don't want it to ever get to the point where it's not usable due to lock wear. So that's always weighing on my mind, and ultimately keeps the knife outta my pocket more than I want.
Yep that factor has me hesitating as well. And mine is at around 70% lockup already, so I don't have much to work with. I know the warranty covers it, but still.....
Untreated Ti on steel is being phased out, and IMO strider needs to keep up with the rest if they want to keep selling knives. It would be very simple to carbidize the lock face.
But you're right, excellent ergos and pretty decent cutting for a knife of its dimensions.
Oh and on another note, I'm back to Dario for another fixed blade. My dad liked his, and I loved it so much that I just had to get one of my own. Should be done in a couple weeks. I went with the standard 3 inch EDC, but with CF scales, Elmax at 61, red liners, and 3.5 mm stock thickness with an FFG. Gonna be sweet:thumbup:![]()
Hey! Another tusk EDCer, we don't seem to be all that common, but I love mine. Question, how solid is the lockup on your marlin spike? I can collapse the lock on mine if working on heavier knots pushing against the lock. The new Sprint PPT and the Tusk. A surprising amount of EDC needs covered with these two.
