Well here it is, finally bit the bullet and picked up a long-time grail of mine. Jim Burke Hitman. Been a fan of Jims work for a long time, have a couple of his midtechs, a couple he designed for Boker, and now this. It takes its place right among the top of any of my knives. Action is superb, fit and finish is just perfect, and it fits my hand like it was made for only me. I have a couple similar priced knives that are just too pretty for much use from me, but this one just begs to be carried and used!

This seems like as good a thread as any for my first post. :)

Today, like most days, I'm carrying my ZT 0450.

Others in my rotation are a Leek, Benchmade 943, Kershaw Launch 1, Spyderco Gayle Bradley, and Protech BR-1.

Agreed! And a blade for it too. I'm curious how you feel about your launch. Which model do you have and how do you like it? I've had my eye on the launch 2. I see now that you have the 1.

I'm quite pleased with the Launch 1. The build quality is very good, the deployment is very snappy, and the blade locks up much better than I had expected. There is absolutely no play at all. I can understand how the looks might not appeal to everyone (it certainly isn't my favorite to look at), but it's a great value considering the cost.

eta: a pic, just because. :)

Awesome, ya the blade play was a concern.. I think that just went from the long list to the short list. Thanks for the info.

They are hard to put down eh. I just got my first large 21 cf and it only gets kicked out of pocket for whatever is new at the moment, then quickly resumes position.

And? Thoughts?
Its a beast for sure. Only did some minor cutting with some paper and cardboard but the ripples are not affecting anything. I'll try to get a pic next to the Emerson Vindicator which is probably about the only other night if I have that's close to the same size

I love the look feel fit and finish of the knife and working with Jeff was a pleasure. Due to some issues at home with my wife losing her job this is definitely going to be the last knife in a long time that I'll be getting. if this says anything I'm fine with that because this knife is pretty damn cool!

Only concern I have is the durability of ccerakote over time and how easy it will be to scratch it but I'm pretty sure it's just going to happen anyway and I'll paint over anything down the line with something like cold blue.
