What knife is this? I don't believe I have seen this cold steel model.

Code 4, came out in 2013 I think. Mine's AUS8 but the new ones are all CTS-XHP.

CTS-XHP!



The Code 4 has kept everything else out of my pocket. But it's not for everybody. The Triad Lock is stiff, and although I don't have a problem with it, there is a break-in period for a lot of people. It doesn't help that Aluminum is a tiny bit.... sticky, and the lockbar seems to drag just a little on the slabs.

It's not a perfect knife (yeah, I know... Unicorns), but IMO, Cold Steel put the money in the right places with this one: strong lock (I'm a Demko fanboy anyway), good steel, and decent ergonomics. For me, the compromises are far outweighed by the good.

It should be! His work looks amazing.

He's making me a Sodbuster and possibly a backpocket with a clip point (it should look similar to avoidspam's) both with vintage Westinghouse micarta. Possibly with M4 steel

That combination sounds well worth the wait

His work is visually spot on but also ticks all the build and finish boxes you can only appreciate in hand
