Just came in the mail this morning. Got it all sharpened and cleaned up, ready for work.

I did some experimenting with the shirogorov full flat grind geometry..if you have the means I recommend a 18° primary bevel and a 25° microbevel. Very pleasing results.

I do have the means, I'll probably do just that. How do you touch up your microbevel, a strop?

I took both bevels up to 4k. Touching up, I use 1 micron spray on a nano strop.

I had my Olamic Wayfarer on me today, along with a knife I'd been eagerly awaiting, which I took possession of today.

A good friend of mine reignited his knifemaking hobby, and he designed this for me for use as a woods/camping knife. Made from an old farrier's rasp, heat treated to a rockwell of between 58 and 60, and sharp enough to shave with. Exactly five and a half inches from tip to the sharpening notch. Can't wait to get out into the woods to put it through its paces!!
