I'm of the mindset that if I buy a knife for a collection piece, it won't be used at all, if it's bought for a user then I expect it to get dinged up.
This way, it doesn't bother me if it's an expensive knife.

I don't expect my EDC to stay pristine but I also use a pocket slip to keep it from getting too beat up in my pocket with my keys. I guess I prefer to keep nice things looking nice; not necessarily looking brand new but not beat up either.

I don't mind dings and scratches on a user knife, but I do not want rust on them.

I won’t lie, the first scratch does bother me. But the million that come after do not.

Extremely relatable. Applies to watches too.
