Looks like Santa was good to you this year. I'm digging the watch. How do you like the BM707? It's been my EDC for several years now. Perfect for me. I'm a big fan.

It's a Citizen Eco-Drive chronometer. Since getting it I've found myself needlessly timing things :D

Actually, it's a Citizen chronograph. A chronometer is type of watch, usually mechanical, which is used for navigation due to its, sometimes quartzlike, accuracy.

ofelas,
Cool seeing another SD :D
On a side note, a chronometer is a timepeice that has been officially certified by COSC in Switzerland. The watch I wear is a chronometer.

This is my carry:

Although recently I have swapped out my right hand karambit for a super cqc7 clipped in my wallet pocket.

Oops, my mistake. You're absolutely right.
I'm liking the 707 a lot. Very sharp, and I think a little nicer to my pocket material than my mini-grip was.

Lite day today

True. Originally chronometers were used by ships' captains for navigation by comparing their current time with the time back at home port. These were quite large requiring wooden boxes for storage and to isolate them from shocks. To be called a chronometer a watch had to be a great deal more accurate than a regular watch.

These days a large number of manufacturers have masters the art of making extremely accurate wristwatches some of these get a chronometer certification from COSC which means that you can use your Rolex to sail a ship if the GPS system fails.
