How do you like that pen? Does it take Space pen refills? Is it stainless steel? Strong construction?

I like it a lot. I carry and use it everyday since one year and have no complaint about. Vanished aluminium body with a good grit. The ergonomy fits my hand despite its simple hexagonal shape. Lightweight, 15 gr, about half a lb. The one piece body makes it strong, the weak point could be the white plastic part of the push rod but i don't have had any trouble with. The clip is well made, firm but easy to pocket.

I don't know about the use of Space Pen refill in a Caran d'Ache but here are pics which, i hope, will help you.

Thanks for your review of the pen. Very detailed and I love the pics. I think it will make a great addition to my EDC. Thanks again!

Personal opinion is that the Caran d"Aches are some of the best-writing ballpoints around. They write very smoothly with all sorts of colors from which to choose. The pencils (.5mm, .7mm and Fixpencils 2mm/3mm) are also very well made. You'll enjoy them.

Around town- BM 710 (perfect size for defensive non-lethal techniques), Gerber vise, cell phone
Work/Fishing- Kershaw leek, Leatherman wave
Hunting- CS Fixed blade Bushman, Leatherman
Flying- CS mini Koga SD-2
Battle- M67 "zippo" (look it up I'm sure you'll agree)

I managed to go through the last couple years worth of posts in this thread and have seen some really cool knives, etc but I was wondering why everyone has one (if not two or three) flashlights on them at all times? Do you guys go out in the woods at night often? Honest question! I'm just curious. I have not doubt a flashlight would be helpful to have in the car, or a small light on a keyring but.. yeah.

currently my upgraded everyday carry:
belt / pants: Victorinox Manager Sapphire + Photon Freedom Micro light in key chain.
Victorinox Pioneer Solo in watch pocket.
Fenix L1P in holster.

In backbag:
Uke 2AAA torch
Victorinox Soldier Alox
Creative muvo 1GB MP3 player + 4x recharged batteries for it
Ibuprofein ( 2-4 ) for migraine
Mini Umbrella
Notebook
few pens

I am waiting my Leatherman Blast + rebranded Fenix combo to arrive soon, which I will take to my EDC.

mgboy: I currently have 3 torches in EDC: Fenix, Uke and Photon Micro.

From May to August I don't need or carry a flashlight, it doesn't get dark here in Santa land, we're that far North. I only carry a small light (Photon II) for peeking into dark places - an essential safety factor there. I just used it today to see where the light switch was in a dark room! But from Sept. to April it's dark, from Nov. to March it's dark or at best twilight practically all the time. So I would say a flashlight is a necessity. Walking with dog, walking to your car and yes, generally going out after dark.

Yeah. Sharp things and bright things just seem to go together. I've been carrying a 4sevens 123 Quark for about 3 months now. Love the moonlight mode 0.02 lumens for walking the dog at night. 170 lumens for lighten things up.
