The headphones look like the Etymotic ER-4 series. Can't tell which model in particular it is.

Yeah, other than knives and other nifty things, my other hobby consists of electronics and headphones. :]

I used to lust after those Etymotic ER-4P earphones, but I couldn't afford the $300 price tag and I hated their high maintenance. I went with a relatively cheaper Shure set (~180) and I'm happy with them. It's kind of weird how they loop on your ear and the cord goes down your back though.

This was years ago, I just checked prices recently and the ER4P is much cheaper now.

Here's my new EDC, technically Cybertool 34 is not in pocket but in belt sheath above the pocket. Well this + Microfiber cloth is my current EDC. I am thinking adding my ITP 1AAA flashlight:

Wallet
Phone
A-data 2GB Jogr water/Spill proof, dust proof, shock resistant USB memory
Key's with KeyBak, Victorinox Signature, Photon Freedom night Green, Merkava NiteRing
Victorinox Pioneer Red Alox when doing knife work among sheeple people
Spyderco Caly 3 for general cutting
Victorinox CyberTool 34 as for my computer fixing tool (as I work in IT department) I mainly carry Cybertool 34 for Cybertool, Scissors and small pliers. Its blade acts as razor shar back-up or back up's back-up

I was looking for a good pair of In-Ear phones and ended up getting the Westone UM1 Single Drivers with the memory-foam "Complytips" They cost about $109US but they're the MOST comfortable IE phones/plugs I've worn. I can have them in ear and lie on my side and fall asleep with them on.
Every rubber tipped IE I've worn hurt my ear canals because they were just too big. I've tried the ones that came with my Sony Ericcson w810i Walkman cellphone, Skull Candy's, etc etc.
I also just got a pair of the Sennheiser HD228 on-ear cans. They're ok but I think I need to burn them in more for them to really open up. For some reason I don't find they sound as good as the Bose models I've seen in BestBuy, I forgot which model they are but cost around $150 or so.

My EDC carry routine normally consists of

SIG 229 357 SIG
Benchmade 710/610/943
Buck 360 Multi Tool
Surfire Light
Cell Phone
Wallet
Keys

Life is rough. I ended up springing for the Shure SE530's which are their top of the line IEM's.. and then got the Sennheiser IE7's... and then got the Westone 3's. I just never ends. :/

Silicone IEM tips and "foamies" or "olives" work on two different principles when inserted in to your ear canal.

The silicone ones work to create a vacuum seal whereas the foamies expand to fill the ear canal. If you want to get really crazy, you can put foamies INSIDE the silicone tips and get a mixture of both.

How did all this IEM talk spring up on a knife forum? Now you guys got me started and I'll never stop. :O
