Edwood, could you explain to me why winkler knives and hawks are so expensive? I'm not trying to sound rude but, I really like his belt knife but I just can't see 350$, can someone chime in and help me out?

I just took this BM635 apart, went over the scales with some 1000 grit & scotchbrite to finish it up.Cleaned & lubed it up with some Tuf-Glide.
I love this knife. It packs a lot of blade in a small package & with the Krein regrind,it's a heckuva slicer.
It would be perfect if it was 'tip-up'.:o

Well they are stock removal pieces, they are each hand finished by Mr. Winkler himself at his shop, and once you get one you can see that they are elements of the blade that make it a semi custom knife. They are high quality and the best semi custom knives out there in my humble opinion. The service you get from Dan Winkler is a just the best, he personally takes your order and guides your trough what type of knife will best suit your needs.
I depend on this knives and axes whit my life, and have used them to defend myself and others in my work. I want the best whit me when I’m out there, I think anyone would. That’s way I go for Winkler Knives.

Here are a few pictures of my Winkler Belt knife.

I have used it a lot, there are some spots on it but that’s what you get when you get a lot of work done whit it, I keep it well oiled and sharp. Always ready.

Thanks for the imput edwood! Once I get enough I will probably get the same knife that you have. How do you like the no glare finish on the knife?

Caswell finish is the way to go, unless you plan to spend a lot of time in a wet conditions.
Keeping the blade clean and oiled. After a few month's of use it will get a nice patina on the blade.

I've been carrying this today. The Alien Artifact 2 by Brian Flud. 3" blade with a beautiful satin finish. It flips effortlessly and it looks great. It's a stout piece that's pretty thick and heavy. I like it mucho. :D

I carry too many....

Cold steel Spartan
Crkt m16-14sfg
Sog seal pup(pre taiwanese production)
Frost cutlery apache
Gerber EVO tanto
Kershaw taskmaster shears
My nameless Korean balisong
And occasionally my original leatherman, and kershaw outlaw bill(original)

Most of these will be switched up soon, so subject to change

Note: this isn't even everything I carry :D

Dad gave me this a few years back. Up until recently I thought it was "too nice" to carry. I have recently changed my mind and it's been classing up my pocket the last week or so.

It's different from the William Henry stuff I have seen around here, not sure why this one is so plain, but it's still a really nice piece. Opens really slick, the ball-bearing detent on the blade/ liner is a nice touch. I think the scales are walnut.

Been onsite and busy all day, so didn't get a chance to post.

Monday:

Leatherman Wave, ZT 0200ST, Benchmade McHenry Willams

Carried my RR barlow, SRM land at work and when I got home had an Opinel #6 and a BM 210 activator...did go without a knife for about an hour when I had to goto a government building to renew my registration on a car I sold (the buyer wanted it with full registration, he paid so all savvy).

Will miss my Supra. :(
