Oh ok. In that case it doesn't look bad at all. Btw, where did you get the sealed 123s?

They are Energizers that I saran wrapped and went over with electrical tape.

I've been carrying a Cold Steel RECON 1 ( first generation lock) Tanto with a plain/non-serrated blade. I'm HARD on EDC blades and have dropped this thing about 150 times on concrete, really hard. It's been great and has endured all of the abuse I could put it through. It is really susceptible to "gunk" and the sticky goop you pick up from tape while cutting boxes. All in all its a really reliable EDC though.

I'm looking into picking up a GERBER Fairborn -Applegate folder as my next EDC. Anybody using that blade, any opinions? I don't wanna pickup a blade that won't stand up to a buttload of abuse.

Wrong place to discuss this really , but the GERBER Fairborn -Applegate folder is not what are looking for.

I had to do a lot of work today. It was Sunday so it was my whole free day the whole week. I had to cut some heavy wood pieces. As usual I added my Mora 711 and my Vic Mountaineer. The Glock Feldmesser 78 stayed in the tool box...

Kind regards

I found this one rummaging through my grandfather many tool boxes; I cleaned it up last night. Anyone have any info on it. I know it’s a Kabar.

That silver piece was sown in to the lining of his leather jacket. He passed away the fallowing year that coin was minted. He always planed ahead for the worst, even in his final days. I just recently realized it was there.

would you mind pointing me in the direction of tying a lanyard like that? :D I've been trying to find a tutorial for ever.
It's called a snake knot. If you search for that in google images, the first results have labeled pics that I learned to tie it from

I carried my new 2010 Recon 1 for the last couple days.

I stripped the coating using a couple razor blades and a micro flat head screw driver. I used a bit of flitz and buffed it on the buffer for a couple seconds. I sharpened it with a fine 1'' x 42" scotch brite belt and stropped it on the 1"x42" leather belt loaded with white compound.

Very easy to dis/re-assemble, and you can see that it has a nice stonewashed finish under the coating.
