Good choice John.

I'm waiting for the translucent scales to be back in stock, and then I'm ordering.

My grip was really really caked with grease and automotive fluids from a year of use at work. Got it all cleaned up and together again. Just put a fresh edge on it and carrying it today. Its working like new again. Amazing what a good cleaning can do for a neglected knife. Im turning this one over to my old man today since he needs a new knife for work.

BK&T Eskabar, Byrd Cara Cara 2 Rescue(ALWAYS), and a decent little chinese victorinox-style Boy Scout knife that I've had for a while(looking to possibly replace it with either a real victorinox or a case Boy Scout knife in the future). Every now and again, I'll throw either my Case Mini Trapper or my Sog Mini Vulcan into the mix.

Im carrying these two today. I just got them in the mail a few days ago. The knife is a new offering form Daniel Winkler, Manufactured from 3/8″ thick 5160 steel, the 3-3/16″ blade is finished in KG guncoat with a skeletonized handle coated with a rubberized material to ensure a positive grip.
The Kydex sheath can be worn on a neck chain and also includes a clip that is compatible with both belt and MOLLE.
I am really loving this knife.

The hawk is an R&D hawk with rubber handles, I asked for a combat axe that could hold up to hard use in jungle and wet environments and this was what I went with after I got some advice from Mr. Winkler. The rubber he uses has some fibers imbedded in the material that actually aid in giving you a secure grip on the axe, even when wet.

Dude! You really have the nicest 'hawks. That handle material looks a bit like horsemat rubber which is a pretty good handle material.
