I found the scale material for this knife at a metal scrap yard in Atlanta. It looks similar to micarta (see last photo) however when finished it looks almost like marble or stone, although its nowhere near that tough. A friend told me he thought it might be an insulating material used in large transformers. Its hard to show the true colors when taking the pictures (shades of green and white).
The etched finish on this blade is very tough. A wire wheel on the buffer will remove stains, rust, etc. and not harm the finish. It's also very unique, almost like a fingerprint. I have yet to see two patterns just alike.

Blade Steel: 1095, Acid Etched

Sheath: Hand sewn leather by maker. Bees wax & Neetsfoot oil finish

arijer,

Thank You. I'm working on a better picture of the scales to try to show the true colors a little better.

I'm taking this one with me to a show this weekend. If it doesn't sale, I'll put it up on my website when I return.

Henry

Received the knife yesterday and am very impressed. Feels great in the hand, fit and finish are top notch. At that price I feel like I stole it.
