I like this knife. What can you tell me about it. Thx.

It’s made by K’roo Blades in South Africa. He mostly does customs but now has a line he calls Worx that are made in small batches. This is one of those knives. It’s one of a batch of five that he made with denim micarta last year.

This is my first K’roo knife and I received two of his customs yesterday. I’ll say that I really like the designs but there is a lot to be desired in the fit/finish on the examples I’ve got. The denim Work exemplifies both in the extreme. I love the design but there are significant fit/finish issues:
  • Side-to-side blade play
  • Sharp edges on the metal parts of the handle handle (pet peeve of mine)
  • Dents in the micarta around the lanyard tube
  • What appears to be residual adhesive on the internals of the knife
  • Metal splinters that have poked me from between the micarta and metal liners; I had to pull them from between the liner and micarta when they became exposed enough to do so
  • The handle parts (micarta slabs, liners, back spring) aren’t quite flush but not terrible
Some of this can perhaps be attributed to the charm of a hand made knife but I think some of it should have been addressed before the knife was released to the wild.

I somehow made it out of the house yesterday with only one knife, one pen, and one small torch. I'm sure I had another pen, and at least one light, in my backpack...but I didn't have another knife (I checked). I had what I needed; and still felt lacking - I guess, after enough time, one really is none (even if the ones are pretty good).

I'll add images later
