EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Why not.

Carbon Fiber? Framelock? It's some kinda F'ing Friday so I went with the CK-F MILK today. I kept meaning to do something about the end of the rip fence rail on the UniSaw as I'd scratched the clips on a couple of work users on it walking by. It's a bit close to the workbench over in the shop. When I saw a scratch on the MILK's clip I knew I'd put it off too long.

I ripped and crosscut a bit of 2x stock for a snug fit and screwed a piece of half-inch ply cut a little bigger to it, rounding off the edges.

It's sized not to interfere with the fence at max rip, but a strip of blue tape finishes the job and adds a little stay-put insurance.

After being pleasantly surprised by my first CRKT, the Provoke, I took the plunge on a second -- the James Williams-designed Hissatsu. For the price point (~$50) the fit and finish are right on the money, AUS-8 is perfectly fine for a specialized blade like this one, and man is the design just fantastic. :)

The thick, neutral handle, with its subtle swell at both ends, feels great in-hand. On paper this knife is so many things I shouldn't like (CRKT, humdrum steel, plastic scales, assisted, gimmicky safety), but I'm impressed. I'd love to see this exact handle with a "friendlier" blade and premium materials, or to own a Williams design like the Lionsteel OZF 001 sometime down the road.

No knife named "certain kill" is a casual carry, but this one will see some pocket time around the house for sure.:D
