EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Pirahna X and Oil Field 86. Sebenzas get a day off.

You, obliviously, like this knife having posted photos of it at least 3 or 4 times. Are you ever going to tell us what it is?

Yep, one of my very favorites! Knife made by Jean Paul Veysseyre, who also forged the stunning damascus. Purchased from Courty & Fils in Paris.

Sheath by the incomparable Paul Long, made especially for this knife.

Here she is helping with a little bread & cheese in Beaune, France

My son and I hiked up to Lake Colchuck yesterday, an alpine lake up in an area of the Cascade Mountains aptly named The Enchantments. Beautiful views and sunny weather made for a wonderful day. We even got to see a mountain goat up close. Anyhow, after a 3 hour drive each way plus 10 miles of hiking up and back, a whiskey took priority over uploading pictures when I got home last night ;), so here they are today.

Wow, thats beautiful. And you got to go with your son, thats great!:)

what a life you live! amazing man

Thanks brother! That really means alot. I suffer from some health issues (a TBI from a car crash among other things) that leave me questioning how long I might be kicking around or functioning well enough to make memories, so I try to stuff as much adventure and good memories with family in as I can while I can

Indeed my friend, it is a blessing. He's 15 now, and it's been great to watch his love for the outdoors develop over the years. Knowing him, I am certain that it is a tradition he will pass along to his own children one day.

Got the antenna out on my Victorinox small Tinker walkie talkie and putting a call into the local off sale for a curbside pickup on the way home after work. Been an eventful 7-10 days and looking forward to just puttering around the house at my own pace completing some projects I've had to put off for a spell.

Betcha didn't know about the walkie talkie feature huh guys;):p

The enchantments are probably one of the most beautiful places in our entire country. Great pictures!

My F95R has found its way into my pocket a lot more lately. Having basically finished and cashed out my big sheetmetal project, I've been enjoying the fruits of my labor and the retired part of semi-retired the last couple weeks and, while this Shiro is a user, it's not a work user and is perfectly suited for less abusive duty away from the job site or fabricating in either the sheetmetal or wood shop.

Absolutely! Even after being spoiled by the natural beauty of the region I was taken aback by how breathtaking it was. It's only been 3 years since we moved up here from Florida, so this was our first trip out there, but we've already decided we need to go back. I'd love to get an overnight permit at some point and backpack the whole thing.

I totally agree with getting a permit to do some over nights. But you should throw your name in RIGHT NOW. It took me four years to get drawn.
