I expected it to kick the Bugout out of my collection, but was pleasantly surprised to find that despite their evident similarities they overlap less than I thought they would. I can't remember where I saw/heard it, but someone said that it felt like with the Deka Hogue didn't set out to design a lightweight knife, but accidentally wound up making one -- whereas the Bugout was purpose-built to be ultra-light from the ground up. That alone sets them apart pretty nicely.
It's fantastic knife across the board, though. I especially like the scale milling and the compound grind. Which blade shape did you go for?
thanks man im excited to check it out! Seems like the Deka has a lot going for it and will be my first Hogue. You having 2 says a lot.Edgeoflife your going to like the Deka congrats man! I saw that sale but didn’t click on it in fear I’d want another and I already have two with one becoming a safe queen but still want another lol. They come with these really nice storage/carry bags to that are really well made just like the knife
It’s really cool that no 2 g-Mascus scales are the same they all have a different pattern.

Where did you get that clip? Thanks.
It’s a MXG clip If I remember correctly but can’t remember which one. If you do a search it should come up on google and YouTube. Sorry wish I could be more help it’s for a ZT not sure which one. If I can remember I’ll edit the answer to your questionWhere did you get that clip? Thanks.
And Thanks to you I have a 3rd on the wayGood deal and I appreciate the comparison thoughts. I have owned a bugout for some time and it is indeed the go to ultra LW. Im normally a drop point kinda guy but ended up going with the wharnie as its just too cool with the compound grind and reminds me of my ZT 0055. The wharnie looks to be a favorite around here also.
