EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

This should be a drop-down menu category on knife retail websites. :D

And yeah, that's a big part of it. Your example is on point, too -- it even feels like an Emerson in some ways. I've just been moving away from black G10/plain blade knives, and I'm surprised at how much I like this one.

I believe the Stryker was released to fill the void in their lineup when Benchmade stopped producing Emersons.

How do you like that Goblin? I’ve had my eye on that one and the one with the CF scale. Bestech make excellent stuff.

I think I have about 7 Bestechs now. I'm definitely a fan. The Goblin took some getting used to. I tend to favor 3"-3.5" blades. But it's quite comfortable in hand and the blade is more than adequate for most of what I use it for. I recommend it.

This was going to be my art knife when I got it last Friday but apparently CQI made my 18 month old scales unusable. Since I don't mind the smooth G10 I chamfered here and there, knocked some sharp radiuses down then polished it back up.

Next I'll acid wash the blade, liners, and screws and call it a day.

Still can't quite put my finger on why I like the 908 Stryker, but I'm enjoying it.
Your further observations and those of Lapedog Lapedog are spot on--the AXIS Stryker is just a great basic knife. We have a lot of Strykers around here, though most of those belong to my wife.

I started out with a mini, the 903, off the Exchange, which led me to the KSF 908-1501 in CF and M4. Later, as I prepared to sell the 903, it being really too small for my thick old mitts, my wife laid claim to it and it became her favorite EDC. When BM disco'd the 908, we bought a few on close-out--a 908SBK and later a 908 for J and a 908S for me as I couldn't find another plain blade at the time. I sold my 908S eventually in a consolidation, as I'm not one for serrations.

For too long I didn't carry the -1510 as I hate marking up coated blades, but decided it was too good a knife to leave in the drawer, so now it's got a couple surface scratches in its wicked tough Cerrakote and gets some time in the rotation. I still wish I had a plain-bladed, G10 908 for the same reason you like yours, DP. Maybe J will let me carry hers some.

Personally I love the look of a worn dlc coated blade. Especially where the dlc is wearing away on the high points of the grind. To each their own.
