EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Sometimes you found something that's not in The Gettin Spot, but you know it's going home with you, anyway.

For sitting where it was, it should have been covered in rust.

The way you see it is pretty much how I found it, less a little schmoo to wipe off.

I thought it might be some kind of Aluminum, because it was one of the few things that wouldn't corrode in that environment. It's Inconel. And I love pain, apparently.

Congrats on your new Inkosi, Zep! That's a great knife.

With all the Reeve knives I have and use, I was missing a Plain Jane for some time as I had traded away my large 25 as part of the deal for my current Tabargan. I picked up a PJ InkoSingo last Spring off the Exchange and am really glad to re-fill that hole in my accumulation as there's just something so sublimely pure about the most basic, unadorned CRK you can get. I can't say that I really prefer one model over another as I now have 21's, a StarTac, a StarBenza 25, Inkosi's, a 31, and one Mnandi, those running the gamut of wood inlays, Micarta inlays, Wilson Combats, and one Plain Jane.

Well, I'm not so sure about the "unofficial" part.;) We've corresponded back and forth as well and, as much as I love CRK's and have bought and used mine for some time, sharing posts and PMing with our friend has certainly encouraged not only the expansion of my inventory, but I've transitioned more and more of those knives into full-fledged work users, further whetting my appetite for more variations and more new knives. I have to wonder if the C in Dcdavis Dcdavis doesn't actually stand for Chris Reeve. :p

Anyway, the InkoSingo is due for some snail trails and maybe a scratch or two, so it left it's storage/carry slip in my morning gym pants and moved into my work pants pocket as I did some prep this afternoon cutting up some Zip Board to work on a temp covering for the upper section of our roof that will have to wait until spring now for a rather complicated repair.

Thank you! I love the look of a well used plain Jane. There used to be someone who posted pics frequently of a heavily used 21 that was covered up in snail trails and I loved it!

Me too--I loved that character on Scrubs. It's crazy that that character was only supposed to be a figment of JD's imagination, and to only appear in one episode, but the actor was so good (IIRC, he improvised a better version of the scene or something) that they decided janitor had to stay.

In other news, the Ka-Bar wrench knife is actually a great knife for the money. I'm amused to discover that this cheap knife is IMO superior to the very much more expensive Bradford Guardian 3 that it's a similar size to. It's not even close, I much prefer the silly wrench knife. Both are too thick-bladed for my taste, and both follow the silly clunky full tang pry bar craze, but the wrench knife is thinner in the pocket, and while slightly longer in overall length, I think, smaller sheathed (and the included sheath is great for pocket carry, with a small ramp to thumb the sheath off). Plus . . . WRENCH KNIFE. ;)

I really appreciate the nice words. Lotta good guys around here. Also really like to hear of more CRKs being full fledged workers. That’s what they are made for. I’m down to only 21s and inkosi’s, and I can say I prefer the Inkosi. It’s hard to beat the way a good wore in, snail trail and scratched covered CRK looks.

I can promise you the C doesn’t stand for Chris Reeve haha.
