That looks amazing. Is the fuller on the back side of the blade for middle finger flicking? I've always wondered why that was there.Someone asked for more pictures...

I didn't manage any pics yesterday nor did I find the time to post as we spent the morning packing J's truck, getting everything squared away at home, and rushing around to leave for VT around mid-day. As usual, we got off a bit late and got up here around 6:30, loaded everything into the cabin and got the woodstove cranking. We went from a 45 degree day on-Cape to 12 degrees both outside and inside here. We got it up to almost 50 downstairs before snuggling in before midnight with an electric radiator having warmed our little upstairs bedroom to a more comfortable level.
Anyway, while packing the saws and other gear the day before I was reminded of some back-and-forth on these pages last week between @Keyopp andBilly The Hungry and Key's shortish-handled forest axe. Heading up here I always bring along my Council Tool Woodcraft 24" Pack Axe which is a great all-around tool for most anything woods-related and a most convenient size for carrying about. I still had my Millie with me that day while getting things together.

The last two days, driving and settling in here, I've split carry between my two Spartan Harseys and had my Northwest Edition with me all day here in our little frozen corner of the Northeast. There's not much snow on the ground--next to nothing down in the Valley with maybe 4-6" up here at 1600-1900 feet. What there is is surprisingly light and unpacked and despite the temps dropping close to single digits at night our streams are still running with ice only at choke points and falls.

I managed to get a bunch of gunk in my Harsey's pivot cutting this spruce sapling close to the ground for pics and had to break the knife down, clean, and re-lube it after polishing the PB washers as long as I had 'em out. I was surprised at the pivot screws being T15 and had to get a second bit out of my Bosch drill kit to go with the one Wiha of that size I've got with my knife stuff to break the factory thread locker.
