EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

I've been so taken with my Spartan Harsey Folders that I have a hard time putting them aside, having posted them numerous times in several threads, and had everything I could do to not carry one or both on an S-day. They almost made me forget another recently acquired pair of related knives I was also so enthused about, but those RHKs live in a double slip in my USA-made mid-tech drawer right next to the SHFs and along with my CRKs and a fair number of single pieces from other makers and I grabbed them instead this morning before heading next door for a workout.

So anyway, this'll be a Skinny Sheepsfoot & Slicer Saturday, and, as I'll be at the drawing board all afternoon, these two fair-sized knives will likely be next to me instead of on me and I won't have to choose between them.

PM2 Satin Tanto BHQ Exclusive. This new knife is very photogenic (I think so). The slightest angle change really shows off the different blade grinds well, especially when viewed or photographed outdoors (at a chilly -4f or -20c degrees shortly after sunrise).

They really did a good job on those, I am not a fan of the tanto grinds that look like they just dragged the tip across a belt sander.

Yes, they sure did do a nice grind. All the angles line up and flow into each other in a very attractive fashion. It would be interesting to actually watch how it was being done. Maybe there’s a special jig setup that allows those grinds to all line up, like an old Spirograph drawing jig.

Between the 4 different models there just wasn’t enough of them made for a hand grinding person to perfect that particular pattern, at least I don’t think so, but maybe? Either way, it’s a very attractive and well executed Tanto grind.

Do you (or anyone else) happen to know the third makers mark on the blade closest to the grip? Looks like a E with an arrow point, or Ex, or maybe a W with an arrow point? Maybe it denotes BHQ Exclusive? Just curious my friend, thanks.

It’s Sal Glesser’s mark. :)

Edit to add: I did not realize you asked about the one closest to the handle scale. I apologize and my answer is wrong. Sal’s is forward of the spydie hole.

It is Eric Glesser’s mark.

I misspoke. The mark closest to the scales is Eric Glesser’s. The one forward of the spydie hole is Sal’s.

Eric’s is the stylized “E” and Sal’s is “S^L”
E for Eric, make perfect sense now. I feel even more honored now to have that knife with both of their marks together on it. Thanks again brother.

You are welcome, friend.

Sorry I led you astray for a second there. I need to learn to read the whole post. Haha.
I agree, it is quite cool to have both marks.
Enjoy your weekend!
