EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

It's been forever since I've carried this, which I believe is the first ZT I've ever purchased. The blade and handle shape plus materials have withstood the test of time and are still very relevant in today's market. The BW finish is one of the best produced. I'm still infatuated with this slicer and promise to ECD it more often.

To be honest, when I first held it I wasn't sure. The curve of the blade and large index finger area of the handle brings the blade/tip down low and produces what I'd best describe as a forward leaning grip. However, after using several times, it really started to grow on me. The handle is actually very comfortable and easy to manipulate the blade for detail work. I'm also enjoying the carbon steel, its handled everything I've thrown at it so far. It doesn't hold an edge like some steels, but its super easy to sharpen and easy to touch up with a few light passes. I do wish there was a small bit of jimping for your thumb, would help with the forward style grip it presents. The sheath was meh, zero retention, but Sharp & Fiery Sharp & Fiery was able to solve that problem for me.

Will be watching out for pics of your new necker... Pinch?
Glad it’s still working out for ya. 😉

I agree with your assessment of the JG3.

I sanded the stonewash off one of my blades and found machine/grind marks like yours. Not sure I like it as I prefer at least a satin finish; I am really lazy though.

Well, thanks for your feedback again .... motivated me to do another iteration :)

Here she is now, GTG, slicing paper.

Plus, my new Fieldtac arrived (yeah !); NationalWMD NationalWMD : thanks again for selling it to me !

Roland.

I thought about Micarta for today, but ended up with my Hudson this morning. The rebuilt knee was cranky this weekend, waking me up two nights in a row and the Cheburkov was right at hand as I'd had it out last night to fondle alongside the similar-sized Biryukov that was yesterday's carry, so I quickly stuck it in my bag in its slip as I was eager to get to PT for some treatment and relief. It's been wet and dark since yesterday afternoon and promises to be so for another day, so I dug into the photo files for today's pics. I tried to find some as yet unused, but sorry if I missed and these have been up here before.
