Dislexic here, is dat fo Sexy manuals one luv?

Well I've sure been a slackard BFer the last few, splitting my days between helping with my new roof and several hours prepping gear and paperwork for our basketball club, then being in the gym nights both supervising and coaching two tryouts per. My old ass has been dragging along with working the new knee and this is the first day I've posted since I carried my Firetac on Micarta Monday. I've got a lotta catching up to do with everyone's posts, but I don't have to go out tonight, there's no roof work tomorrow, and just one tryout session to prep for tomorrow evening. Whew!

I didn't even get a fresh pic for Titanium Turtle Tuesday, so here's a file photo oldie from a workday a couple years back.

I did manage a couple pics of my heavily modded 550 Grip for Wilkins Wednesday with a pair of Kevin's sweet aluminum slabs, backspacer, and replacement blade, and kept that same knife with me today. I shot these on our front stoop railing with my dump trailer pulled up tight to the house in the background filling up with the old red cedar shingles, strapping, and any compromised insulation. I'm glad I bought and stored my cedars years ago for $250 a square as they've now tripled to around $750 if you can even find them.

Not going to lie, but this SHF is quickly becoming my favorite knife, even over the Sebenza and my Shiro. It is so wickedly smooth now, it’s hard to describe how awesome it is.

Having spent about an hour-and-a-half catching up for Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and most of today, I'll venture to agree with Murph here. As much as I enjoy the smoothness and hydraulic feel of my CRKs, I must say that I find my two SHF's to possess at least a taste more of those qualities. My Northwest Coast Edition was brand new and took a bit to break in, but my older PJ came to me as the third owner and the action just blew me away. Another new one that's right there for hydrau-smoothness is the Firetac, a TriWay RHK that arrived with the PB washers installed.

Edit: As far as Shiros go, I've always thought of them more in terms of freeness, not that they aren't smooth as well.

Is that a hint of recurve in your SHF? Or just an optical illusion?
Optical illusion!
Here, I'll beg to disagree with my friend as I've always had the sense that both of mine did have just "a hint of a recurve" and, putting a straight edge on both, have found that indeed to be the case. The lack of a sharpening choil on both makes that appearance more profound as well as making it more likely that subsequent sharpenings will make that feature even more profound. Perhaps Murph's new factory Dama blade does have a straight run from ricasso to belly. Whatever, that blade looks great with the Sugar Skulls handle, brother.

The SHF is a great work knife and one I've thought that Dcdavis Dcdavis would really like, but I have no idea if Spartan makes or might produce on request a lefty version.
