A little leatherwork this morning, and this afternoon I got out to clean up a number of trees that fell on the trail last storm. Was a good chance as we had a day of warm weather to melt that snow.

I never knew they made those slip/repair couplings until 10-12 years ago we were working with a power company having to move and intercept several underground runs. They used them for all of their repair work. They were gray for pvc conduit. No supply house carries the gray ones tho. I guess if it really came down to it I could file the ridge out.Can't say I've never used a conduit coupling for running pipe
I’d say 3-4 years ago we got called out to a nursing home where the plumbers cut into a white underground pvc line and cut through some service feeds. 500mcm, sawzall blade looked like the McDonald’s arches

hell he pushed me out of the way and wanted to pull the jetline. I thought when you work for family it’s basically free labor 
William Henry B12 Spearpoint “Noble” for church, Sunday brunch and a lazy afternoon acclimating to the time change. Far and away the most difficult knife I own to photograph. The Raffir inlays are too reflective for direct light, and my limited skill set with the iPhone doesn’t include any knowledge on how to compensate.
Anyway, it’s also one of my favorites. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Awful sweet Wayfarer Classic there, Arch. That one's just about exactly what I've worked up to custom order, but haven't pulled the trigger. I did write in to inquire and I guess they pre-make a lot of the basic parts in runs from time to time and you can order your specific knife when they have a stock of those on hand.
Today K came by mid-morning and we took an hour re-insulate the next section of roof which we opened yesterday. There's a lot of odd bays up there plus the transition from tray and flat to vaulted ceiling, so he measured and installed while I cut all the pieces. After I loaded my chainsaws and followed him back to his place at his brother's and cut up a good-sized locust that had fallen in the nor-easter a couple weeks back, filling the pick-up with a load of fresh 16' bolts to split and stock away here.
I needed a good work knife, so I grabbed my Large 21 Insingo Micarta and shot these pics next to the truck on the stump in front of the shed as I was grabbing my saws and associated gear.

Love it when that happens!!! I have a similar story. Was in an obscure shop that sold Zippo’s and asked if I could look around in the underneath compartment. Lo and behold, I found a brand new Frank Sinatra engraved silhouette Zippo. Long long discontinued. Still have it. I’ll have to get a shot of it for ya, maybe tomorrow.
I try to cover all the bases…my pants were so upset I had to put a belt on. Haha!
