EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Which LionSteel knife is that? It’s beautiful 👍

Thanks! It’s a bestMAN, this one with micarta and drop point blade options. I think the drop point blade is a newer option to the originals that were only clip point.
There are actually quite a few versions of handles and blade shapes offered, even two blade versions.
DLT also had some dealer excl. sheepsfoot blade versions with more scale options.

All that said, it’s a great knife, I‘d recommend you have a look at them. Well made, M390 and at a fairly decent price.

Haven’t posted all week, so I’m gonna take a few liberties here and bomb the thread with excessive pics.

It’s not my idea though, my 14-year old cockapoo has been bitchin’ and moaning about seeing other pets in some of the pics. She stubborn and usually gets her way, so I promised I’d toss in a few bonus shots with her in the background. She asked that I not focus directly on her….but rather make her appear “cool and aloof”. Her words, not mine. Who am I to argue with directorial cues coming from a dog?

Anyway, in a somewhat surprising turn of events I’ve found myself pocketing the same knife since Sunday night. The satisfying “Thwack!” of an auto can be rather addictive; although my wife has a slightly different way of describing it. Our dog “Ray” is deaf, so she remains impartial….which, in and of itself, is also extremely surprising, because she always sides with my wife. It’s scary how the promise of a little “social media fame” can leverage one’s loyalties.

God, I’m probably gonna wish I’d never exposed her to social media. She was a demanding little princess to begin with. Being in the spotlight here may go right to her head…..and the next thing I know I’ll be one of those people with an Instagram account for my dog. Ugh.

My dog is actually a modeling talent scout and she says that your dog has some serious potential. I don't know, I wasn't really paying attention, but she told me that to tell you that if she's interested to reach out.
Those thumbstuds are handy as hell aren't they? I bought 4 and added them to a few knives that were thumbstud-less. Completely changed it into feeling like a whole new knife!

Edit: Maddie told me to post her pic but not tell anyone that she told me to...

When I first got my Quantum Ursus NL I was taking it to work in its leather slip, mostly just to fondle and admire here and there. Being Wooden Wednesday, I figured I'd just clip it in my pocket and start using it a bit more regularly. I'm not quite ready to make it a full-blown work user yet, so I went into a bottom drawer to grab my old Gerber Adrenelin beater, but it was so dull that I set it aside. I'd forgotten I had this other Gerber Paraframe cheapo that I bought on a whim in a big-box store on vacation many years ago and had found while cleaning out our boat when we sold it. That one filled in nicely for the more abusive tasks today.

I did sharpen my pencil with the Shiro, made a couple paring cuts in wood, and of course posed it for a couple solo pics at lunch time.

There was still a fair bit of ice in the river and the sunny skies belied the temp and biting wind. Mostly got cold hands but managed a couple decent browns.

Wow, that is a beautiful brown man! Jeez. Brown trout are my favorite type of trout to catch. The colors are just crazy awesome. Man, you make we want to go out and get fishing again, sweet!
