I'm usually not the "honeymoon period" type, but since I got it a few weeks back the simple K390 Stretch has found its way into my pocket quite a bit, whether around the house or out and about (Seen here while enjoying dessert on the back porch as the sun sets over the Olympic Mountains in the distance).

It was weird getting home last night and finding no knife clipped in my right front pocket. I immediately realized I'd left it on one of the work tables on the jobsite as I'd used it so frequently yesterday that it was just out loose with all the plethora of tools getting used on my project. I still had my beater in the bottom of my left front, so I clipped it in my right so as not to feel naked heading in this morning and Titanium Tuesday morphed into a Wilson Combat Wednesday after all when I got to work.

I took a rare off-the-job lunch today, heading home--just ten minutes away--as my wife had made something for us, and shot these pics in the rain on the old stump next to where I park the F350.

I’ve really been meaning to pick one of those up, but with the price of diesel now…

Wingman Spar-K watching my back on a “too warm even for March” Wednesday afternoon. I really wish these guys would offer some different variants of this knife; maybe something along the lines of Timascus, wood or fat carbon inlays….or even just a brushed finish with anodized hardware. Although as I write this I realize I’ve only seen one or two other Wingmans here, so I’m guessing there’s just not enough demand to justify expanding the line. I suppose I could always buy the plain Ti version and send it off to have Chip work his magic on it….

I’ve really been meaning to pick one of those up, but with the price of diesel now…

I hear ya there man...Yea, for some reason I've rekindled my interest in the LW Spydercos as of late, and I had heard so many people raving about the K390 and waned to try it out, so I decided to pick it up in a model I hadn't previously experienced. When I had it apart for the dye job and patina I decided to polish the washers up a tad and add some CRK fluorinated grease upon reassembly, and now it flicks out rather nicely for a back lock. It took a screaming edge with just a little touch-up and I've been quite pleased with it overall.
