Lol, I like how you casually drop a pic of a snake that probably would’ve seen me crap my Underoos and run screaming to the car.

I mean, you know….just until my wife gave me the “all clear” and assured me it was safe to return. It’s not like I’m a total wuss.

But seriously, that looks like a great spot and I’m diggin’ your pics and gear.

Just outta curiosity, what kind of snake was it?

I think it was a common adder/European adder/European viper (vipera berus). Just a tad more poisonous than a wasp, and doesn’t bite humans until it gets stepped on or provoked.

It’s the 4th time I see one in 34 years, and the first time the kids saw one, so that was a fun addition to the trip!

Ask, and I shall receive. My mom came out of nowhere while visiting, said "Hey, did you break a knife or something?" and hands me an old USA made Old Timer Schrade 60OT +. It had a chipped tip and was rusted to hell, but I still saw a good, American knife under that, and I did/am doing something about it. It went from this, when I found it, to this, after giving it an edge on my stone by hand (first edge done freehand!).

To this, with two days of working. Almost got that clip, it's gonna be half and half between the Buck 112 SS profile and the regular upswept clip. Right now, it's a sheepsfoot 😂

Today's carry, I was in a rush and going to the craft store, I would have brought more colored knives because I was buying a bunch of knife-related stuff. Dyeing, lanyards, etc... Beautiful stuff, I got, will show later. I LOVE the Police 4 LW and have a serrated version on the way, this one is going back.

Love it, though, and I really wonder... with the comp locked LW models coming out like the Para3 or Sage 5... What about a Matriarch 2 XL, or Civilian 2 LW, on a comp lock, with FRN scales? A comp locked, large reverse-S is one of my dream Spydercos, only way it would be better is if they somehow made it double edged and a wharncliffe on the other side. Tried drawing that out and it looked wonky.
