EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Coleman do I see two Sparrows nested in there?

I wish!! 😂🤣 Left to right is AB iMamba, Gareth Bull original Shamwari, and a Matt Bailey. (Did I miss a joke or a que?)

I will have another Sparrow on the way, but I wanted other folks to be able to experience Josh’s fantastic front flipper…so I’m just waiting patiently.

I’ve had a sneak peak at the new Sparrows, and let me tell ya…it’s hard not to buy them all. The next drop will be something else. You may want to be over carpet when the photos drop so that your chin has something soft to land on. 😂🤣😂🤣

Good morning, BF. This Sunday, I am carrying one of the finest knives Spyderco ever made. You guys can keep your Slysz Bowies, I'd trade you any time 🤣

And thanks again to S SIx Magpies for selling me that Polish "Warrior". I've been looking for a reasonably sized fixed Wharncliffe with enough chrome in steel for a long time ....

Cheers,

Roland.

Yea man it is kind of crazy how different steels, with different heat treats, like different sharpening methods. If I were to do this one over again I would have started with the 140 grit stone. I wasn't reprofiling it so I decided to start with 300. I think I could have got her where I wanted a little quicker going down one grit to start. My next big challenge is a PM2 in S110V. I've never sharpened it before and it is DULL. The edge is all sorts of rolled and rounded off, so that will be different than I'm used to.
If you don’t mind me asking, what sharpener are you using? Thx

I'm using the KME now days. I recommend it. As far as guided sharpeners go I've had a Lansky, a Smith diamond guided sharpening system, and now the KME. With the others I was never able to get edges like I can now. I think that's mainly because it clamps the blade real tightly, the angle guide doesn't have play like the others, and I'm able to get very low grit diamond stones so reprofiling is easier than I've ever experienced before. If you do get a KME I recommend you spring for the two lower grit stones (the 50 grit, and the 100 grit).

Just recently I've started using my Sharpmaker in between KME sharpenings. Since it's so easy to set a new bevel with the KME, in between main sharpenings I can get my edge back using the 40 degree slot on the sharpmaker. This has been the best all together system of sharpening that I've ever experienced. I bought my Sharpmaker like 10 years ago, so I already had that. But yea man I recommend the KME if you have issues with whatever you have now.

A thicker stop pin would make me feel a little more comfortable.
However, I have been using this knife for everything, including some things I shouldn't.
The 8CR13MOV isn't super great, but it sharpens up to a laser. My serrations finally need a real touching up. I ordered an inexpensive serrations sharpener on Amazon, I'm hoping it works well enough.

This knife makes me want a Resilience. A good user for sure and a good way to re-learn partial serrations. I definitely like them, I just need to figure out how to sharpen them correctly.

Ode to all the "beaters", who keep our nice knives looking nice.

Edit: I just realized that for some reason when using imgur, it blurs my pictures. What the hell?
