Small 31 for a Micarta Monday that found me down by the water.
I’ll tell ya’, with most of my knives a sneeze from 20 yards out will somehow manage to leave a blemish. I’m the guy who scratches a knife setting it on a table for a pic. I have OCD that’s pretty well-managed, but scuffs and stuff still pucker me up a bit.
Having said that, I dubbed this particular CRK my dedicated “travel knife” because I’ve dropped it more times than all my other knives combined. It’s been through the washer/dryer no less than 3 times, it was backed over in the driveway, it’s been used and abused and never pampered. It’s one of my hard-use knives…..and yet, but for a few small scratches on the clip it still looks pretty darn good.
Guess my point is simply that while there’s a lot to be said for CRKs, this particular finish combo tops my list as the toughest I’ve ever come across. I’m continually impressed by its durability.
