EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Feels good don’t it. I woke up at 4:47, got up and went to the front porch and took a piss then decided to lay back down and watch tv. Fell asleep and got woke up to a kick in the chest from a 6 year old telling me to wake up at 6:36. His words were “oh hey dad”. Got up and cooked breakfast and taking it easy. Felt good to sleep that late. View attachment 1920307

It was a somewhat hectic day as we welcomed a new addition to our family, an 8-week old Havanese puppy named……..well, we’re still kinda working on the name.

No fear, no hesitation in this little girl. She made herself right at home. Wanted to play and explore non-stop from the moment we got her home yesterday and was sleeping on my chest when I woke up this morning. Very happy, content and confident little girl (and she’s very little. Can’t tell from the quick pics but she’s only slightly larger than my hand).

Anyway, just thought I’d share for the animal lovers out there. Hope everyone’s enjoying a terrific weekend!

Starting today With this Chris Reeve small 31 Bog Oak Ladder Damascus and Gec 62 Stag 👍🏻👊🏻
Going to lunch with a friend and for some reason I’ve been craving some greasy Duck lately 🤣
Might use the CRK for that first ever so precious slow slice and The Gec for the precision cuts😁

Stuck with RHK this morning and Skinny Sheepsfoot Saturday rolled over into Skinny Slicer Sunday.

After some back and forth here yesterday with ac3boyz ac3boyz about vibrant Hinderer scale colors, this one may seem kinda dull and indeed I had planned to replace the gray scale back when I first plucked it off the Exchange. Despite not having been much of a fan of Working Finish, having had a HalfTrack in WF that I moved for another, I grew to really like the contrast of this two-tone blade, its continuity with the lockside finish, and the overall muted grey vibe of the knife.

On another note, we had experienced very little luck with various solar bird-bath fountains but I followed the lead of a few posters here a couple weeks back and used some small brickbats to allow the collector/pump to float while keeping it away from the edge. Mine was an unattractive solution that was remedied this morning with a floating length of bamboo stalk drilled for the wire loop and captured underneath between the pump and battery case. We have another similar fountain that still works and I'll try the same thing in an old copper trough we've re-purposed as a second bird-bath.

Nothing wrong with black and grey. Heck, I'll even go for ODGreen occasionally! I just got about 10 knives into my collection and realized they were all black, and it was time to branch out.
