EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

We got a taste of what was left of Tropical Storm Nicole here on-Cape starting yesterday, but most of it went inside and it ended being some sporadic bursts of medium showers interspersed with light rain and not much strong wind. I'm doing 3 days of desk duty working on league scheduling prep, prepping for our annual Coaches Meeting, as well as dealing with a few club matters and stayed safe and dry indoors. Hope y'all further down the East Coast came out of this one unscathed.

I pocketed my Leader again and popped out to the side of the woodshed for a few pics late this morning. The knife has had a long break-in curve for flipping, not unlike the ZT0452 I've had for quite a few years. It's a little puzzling as it still has a very strong detent for flipping action, but became a free dropping closer early on after just a little tuning. Still, I'm very fond of this one's unusual construction, light weight, and slimness, plus it has a great blade that's an absolute cutting demon.

1) At left is the Reylight Pineapple Mini flashlight 🔦;
2) Then a Timascus wrist band from eBay;
3) Watch is the Rolex white gold submariner (discontinued);
4) Next is a Case Canoe XX with ring-cut woolly mammoth covers by Sampson Customs;
5) Finally, a full custom slip joint by @v.balistreri.knives with spear point Damasteel blade and solid Timascus covers with a round Damasteel shield.

The RAT series are hard to beat for the $$ imo.

Indeed! I shoulda just stopped with the RAT in my collection. The FFG cuts stuff well enough, nice smooth action, and a great value, but nooo I gotta keep trying new and more expensive things 🙄 😆.

This Sencut Sasche is pretty good too though and only a few bucks more than the RAT. The addition of thumb studs with the flipper and button lock makes it a budget fidget king!

The other one is a micarta/D2 sixleaf that i picked up a couple of to check out for dirt cheap on a big auction site. They are decent for the lowly price point but both had blade play so can’t recommend their button locks but the Sencut is a winner!

Totally agree…that’s the hamster wheel effect of the blade hobby/addiction…thinking something new is soooo much better but in the end they’re tools that cut stuff…one cuts just like the other ones do 🤔😁
