Haven't had this one in the pocket for a while due to having very poor action, but some new skiff bearings and it flips like a dream now!

How hard was it to replace those bearings? My Southard sadly never had the best action.

Nothing more than swapping the old for the new. As long as you're comfortable taking the knife apart it's as simple as it gets.
