It’s happened to the best of us including me more then I’d like to saySystem glitched and double posted ...
Training with Bill is on my short list -such a neat guy.
I’ve carried mine a bit, but the micarta hasn’t really changed? I’ve made the mistake of oiling micarta with a bit of mineral oil and I’ll never make that mistake again.I love that Rockstead. I almost got the ironwood version of my Higo II, but I wanted to carry it and I knew I would beat up the wood scales more than the carbon fiber scales. I'm not sure why the carbon fiber is more expensive than the ironwood, unless it's because of the anodizing on the CF models.
That is the best looking Spyderco Caribbean I have seen. What color did did you use, and how long did you cook it?
I have the same Shirogorov, and the micarta scales on the show side have already worn smooth and turned darker green with minimal carry. It was actually looking splotchy so I had to start hand rubbing the micarta to even out to color and texture. I have not added any preservative, oil, or treatment to the scales; but now they feel hard like stone (like my vintage Spyderco micarta).
