We finished up splitting and stocking the rest of the red oak we dropped last week. I decided to stay with Shiro again today and pocketed my work user Hati on washers. Oak is a really stringy splitting wood and a little light chopping action with the M390 blade got through any of those annoying little fibers at the end that wouldn't pull apart.





Afterwards we ran some errands uptown and I stopped by our PO to pick up the SERE 2000 I bought on the Exchange from woodysone . It's a much bigger and more substantial knife than I'd guessed, as I'd never handled one, and I'm very pleased with it--super smooth, super sharp, solid in hand, and a user in excellent condition. Of course I was a little nervous going in as Martin only has 428 positive feedbacks, but everything worked out OK anyway.
