A couple of my favorite steelhead patterns in there. Hard to beat a Copper John/Stonefly Nymph hopper-dropper rig in these parts (inland Mountains of northern Ca.). Cool scales on that Spyderco too!
I know the feeling lol. Just like you have your favorite shirts or pants you end up wearing more because of comfort/style etc. Knives are the same as I find myself finding knives in my safe I forgot I even had that I really liked . I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing lol.I'm still not quite ready to set the SERE completely aside, but I got out another knife that's been evoked by the new-to-me Al Mar and maybe that'll help me transition back towards the other 100 or so that are waiting for their chance to unfold.

I've stood at that very spot.
It appears he's a train conductor, I only know because I've performed a few fire inspections on them (back when I was in the trade) because they have what they call special hazard fire suppression systems. But I remember getting a tour of the cabin and recognized the instruments, I believe the things you see on the left that look like a quarter disc sticking out are speed controls.
