I went back to the SERE today after seeing several posts from TheFactor about his new acquisition. As he mentioned, the knife is ridiculously smooth. I've added a couple drops of liquid Tri-Flow that comes in a needle dropper (similar to those from NanoOil). I'm not sure if the SERE's washers are Nylon or Teflon, but Tri-Flow has micro-particles of PTFE (Teflon) suspended in high-grade petroleum oil and is the best lubricant I've found for those sort of bearings. This knife flicks out with almost zero effort, though I think mine has enough lockbar pressure that it won't ever be drop shut, though that's of no real consequence compared to it's amazing smoothness.
