I would take the chunk of ham, cook it in chicken broth with onions and carrots and some split peas. Then I would get busy. Oh yeah. Of course I would use my knife to cut some meat off the bone

I really like that ZT, J. That's a Les George 0909, right? Custom scale, no, or did they make just one in OD Micarta special for you?I really like Les's stuff but have just one of his currently--the Wilson Combat Eagle which is a great favorite. I should have picked up a Talon earlier, too, as you don't see them available much now since WC isn't doing knives anymore.
I've got kind of a love/hate thing going with ZT, having sold off several that I tried out, keeping only two Rexford 0801's and an 0450/0452 Sinkevich pair. Just something about the feel of them that isn't quite for me. It's just a YMMV thing, I suppose....
Sunigab is an underappreciated scale maker.Yes sir!!! ZT 0909 Les George design with contoured g10 it scales by suingab!!!! OD green canvas of course!!! Its a whole other animal now!!! Love it....View attachment 2156255View attachment 2156256
They make VZ Grips for knives?By the time I checked my computer this morning my new acquisition was available for pickup at the local PO, but I steeled myself to finish preparing my annual contribution to gov't waste so I could get it in the mail before claiming my reward. I started out with another beefy, though somewhat smaller knife as seemed appropriate.

Arriving home and opening my package, I now had these two with me.

The Adamas was one I'd wanted to try out for a long time, and when a sweet deal popped up on the Exchange on this newer (2021) lighter version with its thinner CruWear blade and additional interior milling I jumped on it. My seller got it to me super fast and kindly threw in the custom bead and stubby pull. It's funny, how you pick up a small flat rate boxed knife and it really feels super light, but with every layer you remove--box, interior packing, fabric sheath--it almost seems like the knife gains weight by the time it's the only thing in your hand. Still it's not bad for such a big chunk o'steel and G10 at a bit over 6 oz. I'm liking it so far and feel like I'm, going all Z Zephyr One/Zero here and ready to go Riding the moors, near Romney Marsh.

It is indeed a VZ Slant, gifted me by a generous member here. I think it's an older style, though, as the current Slant doesn't appear to be contoured. I just went to their website and they've got three styles showing--all unavailable. I really like what that scale does for the knife visually and, while the ribs are a little sharpish, they're not really uncomfortable. Got an extra pic of today's two with the VZ Slant side showing....They make VZ Grips for knives?
Either way, the Strider sure looks like it’s sportin’ VZ’s!

Thanks for the suggestion, but after 50 years in the building trades it'll take more than a little pointy G10 to bother my leathery old mitts. I really like the purchase it affords.I think it’s outstanding that they’ve branched out to doing knife scales!
I’ve had a couple pairs on two of my equalizers for years now. They provide excellent “purchase”.
If you find them a little too sharp, just hit them with a piece of 400 grit sandpaper - lightly and just a little bit at a time, until they suit you.
