My first Russian made knife, this Biryukov blade finish is something different than anything else I currently own. Easy to appreciate how different it is, somewhat simple design but the simplicity behind this piece is what seems to be appealing.

Just a crappy day on several fronts here on Cape--not real hot but wicked muggy (relative humidity and dew point both in the 70's) and raining on and off. 'Twas a tough day for pics, carrying a knife that's hard to capture with a glossy finish over tri-colored CF and a polished, orange peel blasted blade, making for a pretty much F'd-up Friday picture-wise, ending up in the woodshed trying to avoid reflectivity.





Or...I could do Fake Friday in the kitchen for a bit more color, as I never use a Folder For Food-prep, always relying on our Wusthofs at home for that, though I usually wield the small Santoku and not the Chef's Knife for our fruit salads.
