EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Switching things up and am carrying a ZT0620CF CTS204P version of the tanto Emerson wave designed knife today.

Have never carried it before and, from what little I've seen, I think it's as good (or better than) anything that Emerson makes itself. Seems like the drop point ZT0630CF version of this knife was only (or mainly) made w/M390 steel, while the tanto was only (or mainly) made w/CTS204P steel. The switch apparently occuring in Aug 2015 due to the lack of availability of M390. See: ~~~ZT 0562CF & 0620CF now only in Carpenter CTS-204P.

From what I've read, they are basically the same steel but opinions will differ. All I know is that I think that it's a nice knife. :)

View attachment 1108616 Mini or full size? I use my full size plenty and would like a "mini" also. S30v is a fine steel imo.
I just realized the Benchmade crooked river butterfly placement is different on the full size. its under the thumb stud where as the mini cr is forward of the thumb stud. Interesting difference i never noticed until now.
I like my full size 15080-2 a lot and it's been finding its way into my pocket pretty frequently since I got it. I'd wanted a Crooked River since buying one for my son a couple years back and finally stepped into a sweet deal on a basically brand new one here on the Exchange. I'm way into big knives but, like you, would dig a mini as well.

As far as the butterfly placement goes, my large has that mark forward of the thumbstud, but a subsequent browse through the internet finds the logo in both locations on the full size knife.

Edit: I have lots of knives in the newer, "more super" steels, but have no issues with S30V either. Good stuff. :)

Well there goes my theory on the butterfly placement as apparently its just completely random after seeing yours lol. I like big blades (well all blades honestly :D ) and really do like the full size crooked river. IMO it carries pretty well even with the larger size and accompanying weight. I also scored mine on the exchange in very lightly used condition for too good a deal To pass up! Im glad i pulled the trigger as it is a great knife and im really happy with it. Glad to hear another fellow CR owner is enjoying theirs also.

The mini CR is really not all that "mini" at 3.6" blade but is considerably lighter in comparison and would be more practical i suppose for EDC however i have no problem EDCing larger knives either. Variety is the spice of life as they say.

To my understanding m390, cts-204p, and cpm-20cv are all very similar. I own two of the three and all are excellent steels.

Thats a Great looking tanto!

IMG_2580.JPG My after work carry today recently acquired from the exchange. Im not really a lanyard guy but i do like this one enough to keep it attached and i think some rogue CF scales are probably gonna find there way onto this mini freek. Im happy to report a 4 finger grip also!
