Is the white item, egg plant? If so, how does it compare in test to the dark egg plant?

This knife is a multi-qualifying candidate for Throwback Thursday. For Benchmade's part, the 551 is no longer made in 154 CM, a steel I like quite well, nor is it available with a hollow primary grind, something I like even more. The other end of the knife features Kevin Wilkins Special Edition BMG X2 scales in Coyote/Not Coyote G11 with a bronze anodized backspacer, which are now unfortunately discontinued. Kevin is still making his deep-carry clips which are featured on the complete knife models he currently makes in his shop.

My dad's (RIP 12/17/1939-1/27/2020) old Frontier 4132. I'm guessing it's from the 60s-70s.
Blades open and shut easily and spring snaps everything tightly into position like new.
