Little warm here last week also…….and of course the most cantankerous bitch of a unit decided to take a day off. Ugh.

Cold Steel Mini Tuff Lite today at the office. Note the size with reference to the pen; tiny, but still fills most of the palm. It's clipped on my back pocket unnoticed.
Should be Just the Thing for opening boxes. Its sharpened edge is about the size of a utility knife edge. For breaking down boxes, it may be less ideal, esp. with its humble 4116 blade steel.
This knife has a great action to it; very snappy, but like other Cold Steels, the lock release bar has to be pressed ALL THE WAY in or it won't unlock. Whenever I get a new Cold Steel knife, I always get a callous on my thumb from pressing that lockbar.

I can't justify buying a nice modern pocket knife for my use. Finally tossed an old junker Gerber and tried a few different ones that didn't work out like different gerbers and civivi. Got the options down to this Schrade and the Buck trunk (252). Chose this one because the steel was 9cr18mov over the 7cr buck. Tired of 7cr and aus8. They are just not good enough even for a beater and I'm not a steel snob... Just from experience.
This Schrade cleaver is great. For something like $20, can't beat it. It's been about 2 months and I can't even nit-pick a complaint.

I’m not sure if it’s because I got it stupid cheap from the seconds sale or I’m just tickled to have a new Spyderco, but I can’t put the Manix 2 LW down and it’s been that way for weeks.
