EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

We’ve still got several of them. Used to come in the metal cases. We had an old thunderbolt rotary hammer drill from them as well. That thing was bulletproof and took a beating for many many years. It finally gave out and we sent it to Milwaukee for repair. Got it back with a letter saying they couldn’t repair it so they sent a replacement. All plastic and when you opened the case it didn’t have that same feel. Definitely doesn’t perform as well, not even close
I remember coming up, spending hours and hours running the hole hog and hanging boxes.

I forgot that I'm still running my old USA made Milwaukee Sawzall too. It's actually my second one, a Gen 2--at least 30 years old--bought when they smoothed out the action so it wasn't so bone-rattling. The older one actually still runs, but is up in the loft with the other old tools. I'm still carrying the old steel cases, a couple with newer tools in them.

I’ve had my fair share of it as well. When I first started we did a ton of new houses. Very high end custom homes. We’ve transitioned out of that over the years but mainly bc the new residential construction market here is just a race to the bottom. Who can do it cheaper and quicker. Shame really

They really were some good tools. And they still are, just not as good in my opinion. It really is amazing how far they came with cordless tools tho

NKD. Had to switch up after a late evening visit from my friendly FedEx driver. This is a custom Johan van der Walt (J Blade) JB1 from Sourh Africa. Gotta say, for about the price of many mid-techs and less than a small Sebenza I’m really impressed and happy to add this one to my modest collection of SA customs.

Ordered Mushroom Knife from FP, full of scratches on the blade surface. They are not something leftover, I tried clean them but then found they are scratches.
It's a knife over EUR170.
My last order from FP.

Same knife two days in a row? It happens! So was it because I love it or did I just wake up late?

Both! 😮 😅

I don't like the cigar as much. I got a couple of these in a sampler a while back. They aren't bad or anything, and they're definitely better than the Novellas I tried recently. I just don't like them as much as my usual stuff and I find myself getting a little bored.

New tools, electric and hand, are not what they once were. "Make faster, cheaper not as good" seems to be the theme. Cheaper, in construction only, wears out / breaks faster so you have to buy a new one. Increases manufacturer's bottom line.
Off my soap box now.
Everyone have a safe work day. Someone or someone's depend on you coming home every night.
