EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Ended up switching it up. The khakis I'm wearing have shallow pockets, and the Biryukov kept getting pushed out when I sat down. Having come straight from the hotel, I had this in the safe with my Beretta in the car, so swapped out.

Medusa Monday

Several M's for Monday here, starting with 'Murican for our friend bigolegator bigolegator as I've transitioned from the long and pointy Russians I carried over the weekend to a longer and pointier USA made knife, this one a grail I was finally able to acquire this year. Another M is for Military, no not the Spydie model despite the round hole, but one that was designed in collaboration with an ex-Navy Seal and designated the Advanced Folding Combat Knife. Finally, there's M390, a blade steel I particularly like and it's inclusion with the 806-1101 was a big part of why I wanted to have it alongside my 800 in ATS34, 806BK in D2, and the 805 TSEK in 440C.

Absolutely gorgeous. I don't usually regret selling a knife after the fact but an 806BK-1101 is at the very top of that short list.

Dang grad school budgets...needed cash, started to seriously thin down the budding collection, and the 806BK-1101 was worth quite a bit more than the user 806D2.

Yours is a beautiful example!

Thanks! Mine is the only one out of the run of 400 satin-bladed -1101's with uncoated scales. BMK sent two numbered knives back to Knifeworks for approval before finishing and installing the scales--this one and one with coated scales. The guy I bought this from worked with Roger and spec'd a lot of the exclusives KW featured. They decided to go with the coated scales and my guy kept this one, the coated example, and the last one in the run. I like the look and feel of the uncoated scales, but the downside is they pic up hand oil with use and darken. The good news is they clean up easily with warm water, Dawn, and a medium brush. I really like the way the raw tan G10 is exposed and shows a little at the bottom of the milled furrows.

It's kinda funny that I have the 806BK D2 and it's kind of a drawer queen as I hate scratching up black blades and want to keep it nice. On the other hand, I carry and use this unicorn. Go figure.

I was thinking the exact same thing. First thought that popped into my mind when I saw this pic, was "snakeland!"

For sure.
When I lived in SW Minnesota I was always on the lookout for rattlers and cottonmouths even though that area does not have any poisonous snakes. Old habits and thought patterns
My wife is terrified of them. She did get to kill her first one on our porch this summer tho
