I guess gators & birds don't really get along.I’m much appreciative for being mentioned here but I’m no bird whisperer compared to @Retired UPS Driver !!
Winter wonderland, where do you live? I am in sunny Vancouver.A hairy drive home from work today. Wet freezing snow…my most disliked weather conditions for driving. However, I did stop by one of my favorite rivers for a look see to ease the stress. Haha.

Nice! I’d be interested in the flame Ti scales if you ever let ‘em go.I was gonna do wood today, but as I've been a bit displeased with my recent attempts to relieve the darkening of my holey Desert Ironwood 710-1401, I avoided that scale material altogether and made this a Wilkins Wednesday instead. It's actually a double-W knife with both Kevin's scales and his hand-ground replacement blade. This one was earlier a WWW with a Wilkins clip as well, but I decided to provide a bit more contrast by subbing a BMK black oxide split arrow for the polished deep carry. That clip now resides on a set of empty Wilkins flamed Ti scales that has sat that way for a while and whose fate is still undecided. I'm reluctant to sell them as Kevin stopped making his scales a while ago, but I don't know that I reallly need a seventh Griptilian either. More First World problems, eh....

Aside from the fully transformative nature of Wilkins Grips--feel in hand, heft, and audible change--something I like a lot is they feature perhaps one of my favorite sorts of rear scale joinery, a short butt-spacer with integral lanyard attachment.

So, maybe 1/4" to a 1/2" from POP BZZZZZZT
Well thanks, but unfortunately, as for your interest, someone here wrote me not long after the quoted post, we made a deal, and he has the flamed Wilkins scales now. It's really too bad Kevin got out of the scale business, but his market share on them dropped too far and he's on to making knives as his main thing now. I'm glad to have my 4 sets plus one of his realacement blades and it's doubtful they're going anywhere.Nice! I’d be interested in the flame Ti scales if you ever let ‘em go.![]()
