EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

A little fiber for Friday.

I don’t know why I keep looking for that next great grail thing, when I’ve had this gorgeous Ochs Worx Solarstorm for the longest time. It’s got my favorite modified wharncliffe blade shape, beautiful blade and handle designs, build and F&F are outstanding, nice snappy flipper action, tight but easy to operate frame lock, it’s sleek but solid, it’s everything I keep saying I’m looking for in my ideal higher-end knife. So it's ‘only’ M390, which is still more blade steel than I’ll ever need. I get it in my head that I need another knife, totally forgetting the nice stuff I already have sitting in the drawer.

I’ve really been enjoying the humble Buck 55 lately. It’s not too tactical and the 420HC steel is pretty humble too, but it gets the job done for my office type tasks.

In particular, the razor sharp clip point is EXCELLENT for the stabbing cut needed to open plastic baggies.

The 3-3/8” long handle is JUST long enough to get my four fingers around.

I also really like the high hollow ground 2-3/8” blade and thin profile. Icing on the cake is the treated wood scales.

It’s not a one-handed opener, but it is easy to pinch open; no need for the nail nick except that it gives something to grab ahold of.

Excellent little pocket knife: 10/10.
