EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

That’s a beauty. How’s the fit and finish on those?
Fit and finish is excellent, but truth be told, mine came missing a body screw. I e-mailed Southern Grind to ask if they could send me one, and not only did I get prompt response, but they sent me a couple replacement screws free of charge along with a bunch of assorted SG swag. Stellar customer service.

Got some new scales for my TRM Nuetron! This is what I needed to make this guy one of my favorites. Although it was pretty high up on my list how it was before anyway. Linen micarta is by far and away my most favoritest type of micarta!

My first set of o-rings on the thumbstuds are jusssst about worn through from flicking it open so much. I guess it's about time to put on a new pair.

How do you like the IQ ?

I like it, a very nice light duty knife.

I've had it for a little while, I opened it and fidgeted with it a bit, but yesterday was the first day I actually carried it. Bought it on secondary but I'm told it was never used or carried so should be in out-of-the-box condition.

It was very smooth when I first tried it, developed a gritty feel after a little fidgeting, but a little KPL got rid of that. I haven't taken it apart.

So, based on very little use, I'm liking it, did some kitchen tasks yesterday and it was a fine paring knife. I cut up some veggies and opened some packages, cut some straps and string. I'm not a huge fidgeter but it's nice and flippy, as long as you stay off the lockbar.

I'm happy with it and would definitely replace it if something happened to it.

What can you tell me about that Mammoth and Damascus treasure? I'm sure I should know, but what a beauty!

It is a Brad Zinker that I picked up at Blade this year. It is a very light knife, with a large blade for the handle size. I really like the mammoth pattern in the scales, and the Damascus bolster is a great touch. Craftsmanship is excellent. Lots of little details that really make it special like floating Damascus back spacer, jeweled liners, fine hatching for jimping on the back of the blade and flipper tab.

This knife did have some lock stick when I got it. With use it has gone away, and I have no other complaints about it other than I need to sharpen it. I used it as a divot repair tool for a round of golf and the front of the blade needs to be touched up.
