Amen! Every time I walk past it I hear my 1st year Journeyman say “ don’t worry boy, it’s the amps that will kill you not the volts!” And I just chuckle and keep walking!

Well, now I'm curious, and I'm trying to remember how the old induced draft fans at "my" plant were set up. If I remember right, they were 13,200 Wye/Delta starters. The big one was... 800 horsepower, I think.

So, a 2300 volt starter, if it's a "soft start", could be turning maybe as much as 600 horsepower...?
